A supply line failure in the primary bathroom at this Union, KY residence allowed water to escape steadily — saturating the tile floor, migrating under the baseboard into the primary bedroom carpet, wicking into the carpet pad and subfloor along the full perimeter wall, traveling through the floor assembly into the kitchen ceiling below where it pooled in the drywall cavity requiring an injectidry hose system to dry from inside, and dropping further into the attached garage where the ceiling drywall bubbled, stained, and ultimately blew out, exposing the floor structure above; by the time H2O Restoration arrived, the loss had touched six distinct spaces across all three levels of the home — bathroom, primary bedroom, closet, kitchen, hallway, and garage — and moisture readings confirmed active saturation well into walls and structural assemblies beyond what was visible on the surface.

Emergency response — on site within 59 minutes
Crew arrived to find active water loss in the primary bathroom and saturation already migrating to three floors. Moisture readings were taken at all affected surfaces — including the underside of the kitchen ceiling, garage ceiling, primary bedroom carpet, and bathroom subfloor — to establish the full extent of the loss before any equipment was placed.

Source containment and initial water extraction
The failed supply line was confirmed isolated before mitigation began. Standing water was extracted from the bathroom tile floor. Carpet in the primary bedroom was detached at the perimeter and the wet pad was removed to allow direct drying of the subfloor. A moisture reading of 38.1 was recorded on the bathroom tile surface, confirming continued saturation in the substrate below.

Injectidry ceiling system — kitchen drying
With water confirmed in the kitchen ceiling cavity below the bathroom, an injectidry system was installed — small holes drilled into the ceiling drywall, hoses threaded in, and air movers connected to force-dry the cavity from the inside without full ceiling demolition. Hoses were run across the kitchen floor and taped down to prevent trip hazards. Daily readings confirmed the cavity was reaching dry standard progressively.

Structural drying — all six rooms simultaneously
Low-profile air movers were positioned along every affected wall in the primary bedroom, hallway, and child's bedroom — directed at exposed subfloor and wall cavities with baseboards removed. A PDS-12 drying unit was deployed in the closet. LGR dehumidifiers were placed in the primary bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. The garage received air movers directed at the stained and damaged ceiling plane.

Contents protection and daily monitoring
Furniture in the primary bedroom was moved and protected. The child's bedroom — with bed, dresser, and contents — was left in place with equipment positioned to minimize disruption. Daily moisture readings were logged across all rooms and tracked against dry standard. A complete moisture mapping report was compiled with timestamped readings for the insurance carrier.

Reconstruction — bathroom, ceiling, and flooring
Once all surfaces reached dry standard, reconstruction began with the primary bathroom: new LVP flooring throughout, subway tile walk-in shower with hex-tile floor, dual vanity with updated fixtures. Kitchen ceiling drywall was patched and repainted. Garage ceiling was repaired and finished. Carpet was reinstalled in the primary bedroom and hallway. Final moisture scan confirmed all readings within acceptable range before project close-out.
