Water spread across the full 517 sq ft finished basement of this Fort Thomas, KY home — covering the recreation room's wood-look LVP flooring from wall to wall and pooling along the fireplace surround and baseboard perimeter. Water entered and spread across the finished basement of this Fort Thomas home, covering the LVP flooring of the recreation room from end to end. The photo shows standing water actively pooling along the wall near the fireplace surround with visible wet sheen across the entire floor field — water had moved toward the fireplace side and was pooling at the baseboard. The loss extended into the connecting hallway and bathroom, reaching all three spaces on the floor plan. The LVP flooring, while initially intact, showed signs of moisture working under the planks at the seams, and moisture meter readings confirmed active wicking into the wall assembly at the perimeter.

A key finding on this job: the photo shows water still actively moving at the time of arrival, pooling along the fireplace wall and spreading toward the perimeter. Early response prevented the water from fully wicking under the LVP subfloor assembly and migrating further into the wall framing.
